Dr Clancy’s Biography

Lady Melody Clancy has just been elected as Vice-Chair of the Florida Board of Acupuncture.

A graduate of East West College of Natural Medicine, Melody J Clancy, A.P. now practices in Osprey, Nokomis, Venice area of Florida. She holds a Masters in Oriental Medicine, a Bachelor in Professional Health Science,a Diplomate in Acupuncture and is certified as a Surgical Technologist. She specializes in working with Veteran’s, PTSD, and is trained in CISM.  With specilized training in Pain, Addiction, Pediatrics, Internal Medicine, and also Facial Rejuvenation.  She has worked with Active Duty military personnel and sports teams.

Prior to her training in Oriental Medicine, Melody has worked in several areas of Western Medical practice. In addition to her work with Orthopaedic surgeons as a Surgical Technologist, she has also worked in office and hospital management, purchasing, and value analysis.

She is an active member and volunteer in the Sarasota County Medical Reserve Corp, Red Cross and she is a Captain in the  Civil Air Patrol (CAP) an auxiliary of the Air Force.  In CAP she received training in Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM), and served as an assistant Public Affairs Officer an editor for a publication within CAP. She has been the editor for the newsletter of the East West College (EWC) Alumni Association, and was a class representative while in school at EWC. As well, she served as school representative at a caucus. She has been an editor at AAAOM, and has been a member of both AAAOM and FSOMA for several years and has served on the executive board of the Florida State Oriental Medical Association (FSOMA) and was very active on the legislative committee.  She has a special interest to continue working with Veteran’s, Military and rescue personel, and has been a provider for the Veterans Administration in Florida.  She is a published author.
